Joy in the Morning

My mother has miscarried. The baby was so small, only 5 weeks old, and yet it was a person and we will miss it. God had a specific purpose for that child's life and it's death, and we're so thankful to know that. Without that assurance, this would be so very tragic, yet with the knowledge that God is sovereign comes joy. Thank you all for your prayers.

As Long as You are Glorified

I love the words to this song. It's from an amazing CD by Sovereign Grace Ministries called Come Weary Saints. You can click HERE to see it and listen to parts of the songs.

Shall I take from Your hand Your blessings
Yet not welcome any pain
Shall I thank You for days of sunshine
Yet grumble in days of rain
Shall I love You in times of plenty
Then leave You in days of drought
Shall I trust when I reap a harvest
But when winter winds blow, then doubt

Oh let Your will be done in me
In Your love I will abide
Oh I long for nothing else as long
As You are glorified

Are You good only when I prosper
And true only when I’m filled
Are You King only when I’m carefree
And God only when I’m well
You are good when I’m poor and needy
You are true when I’m parched and dry
You still reign in the deepest valley
You’re still God in the darkest night

Snow!

A couple days ago it looked like this all morning. So beautiful. It melted quickly because it's still to warm, but hopefully it'll be back.

I am blogging from our motor home. We're on our way to North Carolina, where we will stay until about the 15th. We don't usually get the computer out in here, but dad needed some work done, so he had me do some typing. I thought I ought to post some pictures since I have 4 bars in here! Usually our connection is so slow it takes a LONG time to upload pictures.

Let it snow!

Thanksgiving

On the 20th we set out for a very short trip to Indiana for Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day my mom's side of the family came out for lunch, and then stayed through most of the afternoon playing games and talking.

We bought Adam a pilgrim outfit from Vision Forum when they were on a huge sale last month. I wasn't sure if he'd even want to wear it, but he LOVES it and wears it whenever possible, changing into regular clothes for meals so as not to get it dirty.

Plenty of choices. I think we only ended up playing Scatergories, The Great Dalmuti,  and Settlers of Catan (three favorites)

Cori carefully counting out the Great Dalmuti cards. You never know around here if all or any of the pieces will be with the right games.

The enormous turkey in all it's glory.

Two happy recipients of much delicious food.
