David and Monica Brown Have a Baby Girl

At 12:54 this afternoon Iona Wisdom Brown was born.
It was a relatively easy delivery and both Monica and David are resting now with a happy, healthy baby.

My mom with Iona

Psalm 127
A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon.

Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one's youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Congratulations to David, Monica, and all the family! I remember one time, when talking to Mrs. Scott Brown, how she wanted a grand-daughter. I am sure she is thrilled!

In Christ,
Gabrielle

Thanks everyone for the congratulations!

Mrs. Sherer,
Iona is an island we visited off the coast of Scotland that David and Monica really loved. As for the middle name, the passages, especially in Proverbs, about wisdom crying out and a godly woman opening her mouth in wisdom really stood out to them.
David's dad wrote about the significance of the name Iona on his blog: ncfic.org/blog
